Rick Morris is elected as the Republican Candidate for Virginia's 64th District of the House of Delegates
July 23rd, 2011-Results from the 64th District House of Delegates Republican Convention.
Delegates representing the counties of Isle of Wight, Prince George, Surry, Southampton, Sussex, and the cities of Franklin and Suffolk arrived by 10 AM on Saturday at the Windsor Ruritan Community House in Windsor, Virginia. Delegates cast votes in favor of one of the two candidates: Rick Morris and Joseph Waymack. 48 delegates from Isle of Wight County attended the convention and all votes were cast for Rick Morris. Prince George County had 37 delegates: 26 for Waymack, 11 for Morris. Franklin had 7, with all votes cast for Morris. Southampton County had 9, with all votes for Morris. Suffolk had 1 present for Morris. Surry County had 8 delegates; 3 for Waymack, 5 for Morris. Isle of Wight County carried about 42% of the vote for the 64th district. Congratulations to Rick Morris, our Republican candidate for the 64th District, Virginia House of Delegates. Rick will now focus his campaign on the November 2011 election. He will be challenging incumbant Democrat Bill Barlow for the Virginia House of Delegates seat for the 64th District.
